A spectacular spring-blooming groundcover, moss phlox is a semi-evergreen perennial that spreads to form a thick, low-lying mat. It is perfect for filling bare ground, cascading from elevated spaces or creeping though rock gardens or garden paths. It fares best in soils with medium moisture and good drainage, and can thrive in sandy conditions.

Moss phlox grows to about 6" tall, but each plant can spread overtime to about 2' wide. This particular cultivar, 'Drummand’s Pink,' produces masses of bright pink flowers from March through mid April, and flowers again though les so, in the fall. The blooms attract butterflies and other insect pollinators and is an excellent addition to any sunny space with ground to cover.
